This question comes to mind after the recent attacks by our former President Bill Clinton on Barack Obama. Is it okay to say things about someone that you know are untrue, but may give you an advantage? Would you start rumors about a rival just so you can be more popular or get the guy or girl?

Please weigh in…

The local lawmakers are pushing a bill to make it illegal for teens to text while they drive. Apparently they feel that teens are more at risk to cause an accident while they are driving.

Surprisingly enough, all of my observations has been adults, yes ADULTS texting while driving. Worse than texting are them flipping the radio, digging in their purses, putting on makeup, doing a one handed uturn because they are holding their coffee.

Personally I think that it is unfair to simply target teens regarding driving and texting. I think if it is deemed against the law, then it should be across the board. Us adults included.

I know that most adults think that they are responsible enough to text, drink their coffee, etc while driving however accidents would not be accidents if they were done intentionally. As an adult we should be setting examples for our Teens that driving does indeed take your undivided attention and use due care while we are driving.

As always, I am interested in your opinions….

The topic of Tara Banks’ show today was the dreaded sex talk that kids have with their parents. A few of the teens on the show was sexually active but their parents did not know.

I want to know how many of you are comfortable approaching your parents about sex. Or how many of you are comfortable when you parents approach you to discuss sex. My son and I have a very healthy relationship and sometimes he will bring up the topic and oftentimes I do.

Your friends will always tell you just half the story regarding sex. It is best to discuss with your parents so they can let you know the entire truth. Sex are a lot of things and you should be aware of ALL of it before partaking. As a parent, I have shared my past choices with my son and neice in order for them to not make all of the choices that I did…

I am soliciting feedback from both teens and parents on this topic….

Boy oh Boy. Who knew that kids wearing their pants so low would cause such an uproar within the communities. I have seen the style and personally simply cannot understand it, but does that give me the right to tell others that their pants cannot sag?

My biggest complaint with the trend is that you are able to see the underwear of the individual who is saggin. Does the right of one to sag cross the line when the right of others not to see the undergarments of others is violated.

I remember back when I was a teen, the hot topics were skin tight Sergio Valente Jeans and Halter tops. Which is one of the reasons that I do not understand the saggin phenomenon. We would enjoy the boys in skintight jeans because it gave us the perfect print of his tush! The boys enjoyed seeing us girls in halter tops because that meant that for once we were not wearing a bra….this saggin does the exact opposite. It gives the appearance of someone who is untidy and without form. The individual who is saggin is oftentimes preoccupied with pulling up their pants to be concerned with anything or anyone else around them.

I would like for you to weigh in on the “fashion of saggin”. What are your thoughts? Comments?

Until, gail

Hey! Just wanted to drop you a few lines to state that our press release went out today. You can read it on the website or google “Rated Teen Party Sober”. Received some feedback and to show that I am not one sided, I have decided to post an email received this morning. Email:

Lindsay has a drinking problem which is out of her control and is seeking help. Paris is not really a drinker. She was caught DUI mostly because her body’s weight and reached the minimum for DUI arrest.

You won’t see the old Paris drinking and driving again. Look at her positive aspects.

Normally what you wrote about these two, would make you look like an ignorant Paris Hilton hater.

That email caught me off guard as I have never made any negative comments regarding Paris Hilton nor Lindsay Lohan. I am also going to post my reply to the email below but first I would like to invite you to chime in with whether or not you feel that Lindsay and/or Paris has any effect, positive or negative relating to Teenage partying. My response to the email is below:

Greetings. First I would like to “thank you” for your feedback. I am always open to the perspectives and opinions of others.

I agree with you that Lindsay does indeed have a problem and am very excited that she is finally getting the help that she needs. I have never suggested that Paris Hilton is an alcoholic however she did make a series of “bad judgment calls”. The good news is that Paris is of legal drinking age and when she does indulge is not breaking any laws.

I did not intend to “look like an ignorant Paris Hilton Hater”. I am just a parent trying to make a positive difference in this World. I do not personally know her. After her sentence she exclaimed to the World that she wanted to do something more positive. This was followed up 2 weeks later by her having shots at Leux Deux Night Club. Again, she is of legal drinking age, but with the youth today looking to her as a role model it would be great if she would take a stance on underage drinking or Partying responsibly. That said, I wish Paris “good luck”.

The goal of Rated Teen is underage prevention. As most people know, prevention is the best cure. Again, I thank you for your comments.

Rated Teen is not just another greeting card or apparel company. Our goal is to enhance your Teenage experience. We will need you, our valued customers to communicate your wants and needs to us.

As per the events page, we will be having our first ever Party Sober event on Saturday, October 26th in South Florida. I promise you that the event will be a night of fun and excitement for you and your friends. Despite what you see on TV you do not have to drink to have a good time.

Actually it is quite the contrary. Oftentimes, people drink and make mistakes that can be life altering. I am not going to sit up on my throne and talk down to you about underage drinking. I will tell you that as someone who did her share of drinking in College, it is not all it’s cracked up to be. When your buzz is gone, you are left to deal with your actions.

I know that many of you have tried alcohol. Some due to peer pressure, and others just because you were curious. Your Teen years are a time to grow, experiment, and above all else, make memories. With that in mind, you want to ensure that you have “good” memories to reflect back on so when you get to be as old as me (ripe old age of 39), you can look back and laugh. Trust me, you do not just want to be the Life of the Party, you want to have a Life after the Party.

I am opening an invitation to each and everyone of you to come out and Party Sober with us, on Saturday, October 26th. Details are being finalized and will be posted on the events section of the website.

If you are a Teen and have experimented with alcohol, I would like for you to comment to this blog. No lectures here, no condemnation, but your story may help someone else.
